Last updated: 24/10/2026
Welcome to Daft about Craft, where handmade magic comes to life.
These Terms & Conditions explain how purchases from our online store work, including ordering, payment, delivery, cancellations and returns.
Please read them before placing an order.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory consumer rights.
1. About Us
Daft about Craft is an independent handmade business operated by a sole trader based in Scotland, United Kingdom.
Business name: Daft about Craft
Business address: 7 Pennant Way Irvine, KA112GE
Email: daftaboutcraftgb@gmail.com
Website: https://daftaboutcraft.com
Our online store is powered by Shopify, which provides the ecommerce platform used to process orders and facilitate payments.
Your contract for the purchase of goods is with Daft about Craft, not Shopify.
2. Our Handmade Products
Daft about Craft specialises in handmade crochet creations, decorative fibre art collectibles, artisan crochet accessories and gift sets.
Each handmade item is individually crafted, and minor variations in stitching, shape, dimensions, colour or finishing may occur.
We aim to provide accurate descriptions, photographs, measurements and material information. Colours may appear slightly different depending on screen settings and lighting.
Product-specific information, including intended use, age suitability and safety precautions, is provided within the relevant product listing.
Please read this information carefully before purchasing.
Products must be used in accordance with their descriptions and any accompanying safety instructions.
3. Placing an Order
By placing an order, you confirm that the information provided during checkout is accurate and complete.
After checkout, you will receive an automated order confirmation acknowledging receipt of your order.
A contract is formed when we accept your order, normally by sending a dispatch confirmation.
We reserve the right to decline an order where there is a genuine reason, including stock unavailability, an obvious pricing error, suspected fraud or inability to deliver to the requested destination.
If payment has already been collected for an order we cannot accept, we will issue a full refund.
If you need to change or cancel an order before dispatch, please contact us as soon as possible.
Your statutory cancellation rights are explained in Section 7.
4. Prices and Payment
Product prices are displayed in the currency shown at checkout.
The final checkout total will include applicable product charges, delivery costs and any taxes or import duties collected at checkout.
All applicable charges will be displayed before you confirm your purchase.
Payment is processed securely through the payment methods offered at checkout.
Prices may change without notice, but changes will not affect orders already accepted.
Any applicable taxes will be handled in accordance with relevant legislation.
5. UK Shipping and Delivery
Orders are normally prepared and dispatched within two working days unless otherwise stated in the product listing.
UK orders are generally sent using Royal Mail Tracked 48.
Delivery estimates are provided for guidance and are not guaranteed delivery dates.
We remain responsible for goods until they come into your physical possession, or that of a person you have nominated to receive them, subject to applicable law.
If an order is lost or damaged during delivery, please contact us so we can investigate and arrange an appropriate resolution.
Unless a different delivery period has been agreed, goods will be delivered without undue delay and within the period required by applicable consumer law.
6. International Shipping
We welcome international customers and offer delivery to eligible destinations shown at checkout.
International orders are generally dispatched using Royal Mail International Tracked, where available.
Delivery times vary depending on destination, customs procedures and local postal services.
Where supported for your destination, applicable import duties and taxes are calculated and collected during checkout.
The checkout will indicate which charges are included in your order total.
Any additional charges not collected at checkout, where legally payable by the recipient, may remain the customer’s responsibility. We aim to make this clear before purchase.
International customers are responsible for complying with applicable import restrictions in their destination country.
Nothing in this section removes mandatory consumer rights or legal protections applicable to international customers.
7. Cancellations and Change-of-Mind Returns
For most purchases made online, UK consumers have a legal right to cancel their order within 14 days after receiving the goods, without giving a reason.
To exercise this right, please notify us by email at daftaboutcraftgb@gmail.com within the cancellation period.
After notifying us of cancellation, you must return the goods within 14 days.
For change-of-mind returns, customers are responsible for the direct cost of return postage, where this has been communicated before purchase.
Returned items should be appropriately packaged to prevent damage in transit.
Customers may be responsible for diminished value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
Where the statutory cancellation right applies, we will refund the payments required by law, including the cost of standard outbound delivery where applicable.
Refunds will normally be issued using the original payment method within 14 days of receiving the returned goods or receiving evidence that they have been sent back, whichever is earlier.
Any exceptions to the statutory cancellation right will apply only where permitted by law and clearly communicated before purchase.
Handmade, one-of-a-kind or ready-made items are not automatically exempt from cancellation rights simply because they are handmade.
For further details, please see our Returns & Refunds Policy.
8. Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Items
We take care when creating, checking and packaging every order.
If an item arrives faulty, damaged, incorrectly described or otherwise fails to meet your statutory rights, please contact us at daftaboutcraftgb@gmail.com.
We may request photographs or further details to help resolve the issue.
Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and other applicable legislation remain unaffected.
Depending on the circumstances, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, price reduction or refund.
Where goods are faulty or do not conform to the contract, we will meet our legal obligations concerning reasonable return costs and remedies.
9. Product Safety and Intended Use
Our product ranges include decorative handmade items and crafting accessories.
Some items may contain small components, decorative attachments, beads or other materials that require particular care.
The intended use and age suitability of each product are stated in its individual listing and, where appropriate, on accompanying product information.
Products described as adult decorative collectibles are intended for decorative display rather than children’s play.
Such descriptions do not replace any safety assessment, testing, labelling or other legal requirements that may apply to a particular product.
Customers should follow all supplied safety information and keep products away from children where the product’s intended use or safety information requires this.
10. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, the original photographs, written product descriptions, branding and other original content created by Daft about Craft remain our intellectual property.
Some handmade creations may be produced using patterns or designs created by independent designers. Rights in those original patterns and designs remain with their respective owners.
Purchasing an item does not transfer copyright or other intellectual property rights to the buyer.
Please do not reproduce or commercially use our original website content without permission, except where permitted by law.
11. Privacy and Personal Information
We collect and process personal information as necessary to operate our online store, fulfil orders, communicate with customers and meet our legal obligations.
Our website is powered by Shopify, and relevant information may be processed by Shopify and other service providers.
Please refer to our Privacy Policy for further information about personal data, cookies, service providers and your rights.
12. Liability and Consumer Rights
We take reasonable care to ensure our products and services meet applicable legal requirements.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions restricts your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable consumer protection legislation.
13. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by Scots law.
If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the United Kingdom or internationally, you retain the benefit of any mandatory consumer protections applicable to you.
Nothing in these terms removes any right you may have to bring proceedings in a court that has jurisdiction under applicable law.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions to reflect changes to our business, services or legal obligations.
The version applicable to your order will normally be the version in effect when your order was placed, unless a change is required by law or otherwise agreed.
The latest version will be available on our website.
